Assignment 1 Part 2 - Three Words
For my 36 custom textures, I explored ideas of fluidity and rigidity - words that ultimately correlate with the architectural form of my gallery building for Project One. The 3 words and subsequent textures incorporated into my project were 'Healing', 'Hybridity' and 'Resilience'.
Why?
Because these three words represent ideas that intertwine with the clientele and gallery space. These words signify notions of curved lines and structures, varying ways of reaching above and below ground, as well as finding a reliable, sturdy and memorable material for both the clients and viewers to enjoy.
The gallery space exemplifies the notion of 'healing' through the curvaceous form and materials - a conceptual sense of circularity aiming to capture the audience both through the products and building's form.
The words 'hybridity' and 'resilience' aim to construct the ideal that the gallery is a positive space for two very different clientele products, furthered through the word 'resilience', as the viewer is able to come to an understanding that two highly opposing products can work together to create an immersive and highly aesthetic space.
